Machining Services

We offer a machining service for cylinder blocks and boiler fittings as part of our ‘boiler workshop’ services. Cylinders can be bored and valve faces machined, regulator faces machined, old and broken studs removed and replaced.

Boiler fittings can generally be repaired, depending on the amount or wear; or if required, patterns can be made, castings produced and the new items machined.

Compound, piston valve Aveling & Porter cylinder block, cylinder bored, refitted to boiler pad with new studs and nuts.

Fowler boiler clack fitting with new ‘top half’ of casting. The flange that attaches to the boiler was cracked.

Aveling & Porter C type, single cylinder piston valve engine. It has a very poor, damaged headstock. We were lucky enough to get a new cast component and machine it for the customer. This engine also had new pressed throatplate and firebox.
